Edale Sells 14-Colour 500 mm Wide Solution for Scratch Card Production in Vietnam
Edale Ltd, UK manufacturers of specialist web based security printing and converting solutions, and their distributor TECAPRO (Hanoi Office) with the support of C.Illies & Co have recently sold their second single-pass scratch telephone card printing line into Vietnam. The Edale system offers a highly productive and secure single-pass telephone card production.
This latest system to enter the Vietnamese market is based upon Edale’s Gamma printing and converting line. The Gamma is the newest product to be offered by Edale and benefits from multi-axis servo drives, high-speed and low-waste set up, as well as high-end flexographic print quality.
The Edale system can be customised to suit the exact requirements of the customer and this machine was designed to combine the multiple processes normally associated with scratch card production into a single-pass. This rationalises the production process, eliminates work in progress and increases the security and traceability of the cards. This single machine has been designed to produce more than 200,000 finished cards per hour.
This Edale system incorporates many features, including 14 high-quality flexographic print stations, 2.5 minute “pit stop” colour changes, automatic register and pre-register, web turn bar, web cleaning, rotary cutting, slitting, sheeting and fan folding.
Digital inkjet stations print PIN and serial numbers onto each card, while video verification cameras monitor every card for print legibility and the quality of the scratch off panel. The cameras also relay information back to the controller which checks the information against the job’s database to ensure that there are no errors with the data, providing a full integrity system.
Scratch-off inks and release varnish are applied to the cards using further flexographic print stations which offer a combination of IR or UV dryers.
The system is designed to finish the cards in a multitude of formats including: 10 or 20-up multi-pin sheets, individual ISO cards and zig zag folded card. The equipment supplied is also capable or producing other products such as lottery tickets and promotional vouchers.
