Innovate not complicate.

The FL-3 is a high productivity, cost efficient quality label and packaging printing press.

Edale’s priority when designing the FL-3 was to create a press tailored specifically to the label market; with the scope to venture into flexible packaging applications should customer demands change. With this press, Edale have not over complicated the design, the FL-3 does what it is built to do, and does it well, ensuring a rapid return on investment.

Increased productivity - high productivity
is achieved with run speeds up to 200m/
min.
The pre-register positions print cylinders
in register before any material
Ultra-short web path 0f 1.6m between prints ensures minimum waste and
maximum efficiency.
Full print station colour changes achieved
in under 70 seconds - and on the fly.
Gearless impression cylinders ensure high quality is maintained through a range of substrates from 12 - 450 micron
The unique print head geometry ensures consistent high quality print across a range of repeats with minimal adjustments.
Auto register maintains accurate registration with movements controlled via the HMI on each print station, ensuring optimum print quality and minimum waste
The rail system allows for additional options such as laminating, screen, turn bar, cold foiling and delam/relam to be easily moved into varying positions.
Job storage facility stores jobs, production data and press settings to be recalled at a later date, without having to reset the job.
Speed and productivity is increased with the Break Free waste stripping module, allowing die cutting of complex shapes without the risk of web breaks.
Independent servo drive of die cassettes – allows for accurate print to die register control as well as a variable length sheeting station, without any adjustment.
An eight colour job set up in under 10 minutes under 17m material waste.

Product Case Study

Press gives Labelnet wider product portfolio and perfect labels.

Background

Leading UK label, ticket and tag manufacturer Labelnet has been supplying to a wide range of industries since 1999. Based in Essex, the company was seeking a new label and flexible packaging press to increase productivity and efficiency.

Solution

Having thoroughly researched the market, Labelnet made the decision to invest in our FL-3 – attracted partly by the machine’s wide range of features, high reliability and rapid return on investment – but chiefly by fast ‘on the fly’ job setup and unlimited storage capability.

Benefits

The FL-3’s capabilities have enabled Labelnet to broaden its offering, including as regards unsupported materials and substrate types. They have invested in the optional 100% web inspection feature which helps to guarantee perfect labels, every time.

“Being able to prepare jobs in this way in our production facility is going to create a massive advantage for us. Not only will it increase productivity, we’ll also be able to reduce lead times, which ultimately means we’ll be able to take more work without compromising on the quality of our products.”
Mark Slattery, Operations Director, Labelnet
